Biography
Harp
Lisa was inspired to study harp by her love of Celtic music and by Celtic harpist and soloist Orla Fallen. She studied harp for six years at the Preucil School of Music in Iowa City. Then Lisa continued her study of harp under the mentorship of Iowa City wedding and event harpist Malerie Weed for three years and continues her studies with area harpist and harp therapist Bethany Wheeler.
Lisa has performed at recitals and special events at St. Mary's, St. Patrick's, and St. Wenceslaus' Churches, and with the Newman Center Christmas Concert. She has also performed at the Amana Colonies Renaissance Fair, the University of Iowa Hospital and
Clinics, and Mercy Hospital in Iowa City. She has provided
wedding music in venues in Cedar Rapids and Iowa City.
Flute
Lisa began flute in the Iowa City Schools band program.
She was awarded the Iowa City West High Director's Award for Varsity Band and the following year, the Director's Award for Symphony Band. She played flute and piccolo for two years for the University of Iowa Concert Band. She has performed flute and piccolo at recitals, with the West Music Flute Choir, at St. Mary's Church and at the Amana Colonies Renaissance Fair. Lisa continues to study flute and piccolo under Iowa City flutist Sarah Beland.
